WeAI
A community (DAO) owned and operated store, selling collaboratively AI designed products.
I want to build a store that has these 3 components (the third part is more so just a concept)
Part 1: AI designed goods.
We sell products designed by Dall-E 2, mid-journey and other services, that are printed / built on demand (i.e. we hold no inventory at least initially). We try to get better and better at being able to assemble the wild creations that Dall-E generates - see these hats below.

Part 2: Web3 Collaboratively Created, Operated, and Owned.
The ambition is to also experiment with having the store be collaboratively owned and operated as a DAO
- The revenue stream of the store will be tokenized. I’m going to experiment with building a Shopify app that allows for the tokenization of revenues. More specifically, we might even experiment with splits based on the products each person contributes and corresponding sales.
- Anyone can submit new Dall-E 2 generated designs to the store. We can iterate on proposals for how revenue is split (or if everyone just gets the revenue for the product they designed and we all piggy-back on a shared distribution channel).
- We’ll collectively work on getting distirbution for the store and products. We’ll be a DAO that heavily employs AI in our marketing, and our collective networks to promote the products that we’re co-designing. All the images you see on the site, and copy, are generated by Dall-E and GPT-3
- Everything will be highly remixable.
- The idea is that if everyone participates in both the making of the products, the building of the distribution, and the outcome of the revenue, then good things can happen.
Part 3: Have AI Design Anything, We’ll Make it Real
Right now I’m starting things off using Printfully and other on-demand printing services , but I think it’s interesting to think about what a service would be that you can give it any image of any product, and it can figure out what would be involved in making that product, and how much it would cost, giving you the ability to pretty much “make” anything.
You could imagine assembling a group of people in to something called a “Reality Collective” that is a network of folks that collectively can assemble and manufacture anything you might imagine - e.g. these Dali inspired chairs below. This is along the lines of the Fab Lab idea that MIT Media Lab was exploring back in the day: https://www.media.mit.edu/projects/fab-labs/overview/

Some Quick Notes:
- AI-powered hyper materilaism. This project also touches on how the deluge of AI-generated media we’re about to experience will also create a lot more “stuff” that people can purchase. How can we be thoughtful about what type of things we make, and how we can also do something beneficial with the byproduct of all the things we’re now able to create?
- Is there a “Printful” style service that already has re-purposing existing materials / donating to sustainable causes as part of its mission?
